Do we want Rotation?
Do we want to include the idea of rotation with in our system?
meaning that if i ran for Premier, won...sought re-election won again, i would then have to take a break for a term, then i would be able to run again?
also it could be however we fashion it, it does not have to be exactly how i outlined it above.
we could make it so you can only serve for 3 terms, then you have to take a one term break.
or you can only serve for 2 terms and you have to take a 2 term break.
or we could just not have the idea at all.
i was just curious what you guys thought.

Re: Do we want Rotation?
I am not a proponant of Rotation. I think a person should be allowed to serve for however long they wish to keep running and however long the voters keep voting for them.
However, I would be willing to compromise on a 2 term-1 term break cycle. If that is what the census says.

I agree completely with Anglenburgh.
I would prefer no regulations, at least not in regard to term-limits.
However, I would be willing to accept a 2-term / 1-term break cycle.

fine by me.
i am more apt to want a 2 term/ 1 break cycle.
but if no one else think it necessary, then i am not that attached to it.

I think it would be okay to start off with no limit but if it gets ridiculous we can amend the constitution/make a bill to add the 2term/1term concept.

That is a good idea Angleburgh.
i shall leave the constitution silent on whether or not the Premier has term limits.
thereby allowing the Assembly, in future, if need be, to legislate such things.
or atleast i think it would work that way...no way of telling until it happens and is brought before the Supreme Court..lol

I, too, am against rotation. If the people get tired of having the same leader for term after term, they can simply vote someone else into office.

It seems like most are in favor of the absence of limits. However, we can allow the Assembly to decide these matters in the future, and legislate appropriately.
